Abstract
This research is located in South Sulawesi Province, which has several districts/cities in which there are tourist villages, this research was only carried out in tourist villages in the following districts; (1) PETA Tourism Village, Rante Malonging. Palopo City, (2) Wattang Bacukiki Tourism Village, Parepare City, (3) Tana Towa Tourism Village, Bulukumba District, (4) Tompo Bulu Tourism Village, Sinjai District, and (5) Lakkang Tourism Village, Makassar City. This study aims to determine government policy in the management of Tourism Villages (how are government policies on the use of local genius), to find out participation community in the management of Tourism Villages, to find out the forms of developing Attractions, Accessibility, Accommodation and Amenities used in the management of Tourism Villages, to determine the function of local wisdom in the management of Tourism Villages. In this study, the population and sample are the community and the government that manages district/city tourism villages in South Sulawesi Province This research uses descriptive method with using a qualitative approach (qualitative approach). nature of This research seeks and explores a lot of input from informant base in the field, apart from that this research also distributed questionnaires to 40 people as respondents. The results showed that the government's policy on tourism villages still refers to the general policy of the central government, the role of the community in supporting local tourism in South Sulawesi Province is in the form of community/youth organization groups, the availability of accessibility of attractions, activities, accommodation and amenities varies widely and has the following characteristics: following; The PETA Rente Malonging, Wattang Bacukiki, and Lakkang Tourism Villages have the characteristics of having unique and interesting economic activities, while the Tana Towa Tourism Village has the characteristics of a traditional village and rural authenticity. while the village of Tompo Bulu has the characteristics of a village that has a distinctive spatial building structure.
