Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the paradigm of travellers looking for a safe and comfortable holiday experience. One popular alternative that has emerged is staycation in hotels, where travelers can enjoy different experiences within the city where they live. This study aims to investigatethe implementation of staycation as a product innovation strategy in the hospitality industry in Bandung City, West Java, from an educational management perspective. This research uses a qualitative approach by conducting interviews with hotel managers and customers who use staycation services. The results showed that staycation is considered an effective innovative strategy in attracting customers and increasing hotel revenue. However, the implementation of staycation also requires changes in hotel management and employee skill development to provide quality staycation services. Therefore, management education can assist the hospitality industry in developing employees' abilities to face the changing era of adapting to new habits, including the development of staycation services
